Martial-Arts Therapy
Why martial arts?
Martial arts have many aspects - the ones most commonly referred to are self-defense and sports activities.
Discipline, self-esteem, and stress management, for example, are some of the benefits of practicing martial arts, although often they are disregarded.
Practicing them improves and brings positive change to the life of anyone, especially those in need of special attention.
Coordination, motor skills, body strength, increased attention span, positive self-esteem, and confidence are known to improve the day-to-day life of kids and adults with ADD, ADHD, DCD, Autism, social difficulties, and other special needs - as well as those who just need to improve their relationship with their own body.
What can we do together?
In a series of 1:1 sessions, we’ll set goals and work together, physically and mentally, to self-improve, overcome challenges and achieve those goals.
Did you know?
DCD (Developmental coordination disorder) is a motor skills disorder that causes kids to appear clumsy or awkward. 10-15% of children suffer from this, and 80% are boys. Many DCD kids tend to have ADHD because they are in a constant battle with their body just trying to get it to straighten up. No wonder they have no attention left for other external stimulations.
Martial arts therapy can provide children with methods and techniques for posture improvement and reduce clumsiness-related accidents. As a result, these children have an easier time in school, get fewer remarks from teachers and other students, experience less stress, and have more fun in their day-to-day lives.
